About Space

Space is a smooth-leaf (flat) hybrid with upright, medium to dark green leaves that stay clean and wash easily, making it popular for both baby leaf and full-size bunching. It resists several races of downy mildew and is slow to bolt, giving reliable performance across multiple seasons. The upright habit and tender texture suit fresh salads as well as cooking.

Growing Space Spinach

Direct sow in early spring and again in late summer for fall, spacing about 2 to 3 inches for baby leaf or 4 to 6 inches for full plants. Its upright growth holds leaves off the soil and reduces grit. Keep the soil consistently moist to avoid stress, and cut baby leaves at 3 to 4 inches for the sweetest, most tender flavor.
