About Harman US

Harman US turns public U.S. government agricultural data into pages that load fast, read clearly, and name their sources. We started with two things farmers and gardeners look up constantly: hay prices and frost dates.

What we publish

Our hay price pages come directly from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service's weekly Direct Hay reports. Our frost-date and growing-season tools are computed from the NOAA 1991–2020 U.S. Climate Normals, matched to the nearest official weather station for your ZIP code. Every figure on the site is traceable to one of these public sources, and we say which one on every page.

How we work

Harman US is maintained by the Harman editorial and data team. We build automated pipelines that pull each new USDA report and refresh our pages, and we review the methodology and presentation so the numbers are shown honestly - including where a nearby weather station may not perfectly represent your exact location. We use automation to keep data current; the wording and structure are prepared and reviewed by our team.

What we are not

We are an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or the National Weather Service. Their data is in the public domain; how we present it is our own.
