How to Store Parsley
Parsley keeps better than many soft herbs, but it still benefits from cold, moist storage. Think of it as a short-term fresh herb with good drying and freezing options.

Best storage conditions
Store fresh parsley at 32 to 36 F with high humidity. Keep it out of direct light, either wrapped in the refrigerator or upright with stems in a little water.
How long it keeps
Fresh parsley usually lasts about 1 to 2 weeks. Dried or frozen parsley keeps for months.
Storage methods
Trim stems and place bunches in a jar with a little water, loosely covered, or wrap in a damp paper towel inside a loose bag. Keep leaves from sitting wet, and remove any tied bands that bruise stems. Do not store it tightly sealed while damp.
Freezing & preserving
Freeze chopped parsley or whole sprigs, or dry bunches or leaves in a well-ventilated place or dehydrator. For canned herb mixtures, use tested USDA or NCHFP recipes.
Tips
Refresh wilted stems by re-trimming and changing water. Remove yellowing leaves early.
