How to Store Blackberries
Blackberries are fragile and should go straight into cold storage after picking. Keep them dry, shallow, and undisturbed.

Best storage conditions
Store at 32 to 34 F with 90 to 95 percent humidity, out of light. Refrigeration is best.
How long it keeps
Fresh blackberries usually keep 2 to 5 days. Softer fully ripe berries are on the shorter end of that range.
Storage methods
Do not wash until use, and refrigerate in a shallow container with good airflow. Handle gently and avoid piling fruit too deep. Do not leave them at room temperature except briefly.
Freezing & preserving
Freeze in a single layer for best results. Blackberries can also be dried or made into jams and syrups. For canning, use tested USDA or NCHFP recipes.
Tips
Remove leaking or moldy berries promptly. Condensation shortens storage life, so keep containers dry and cool.
