About Earliglow

Earliglow is a June-bearing variety widely regarded as one of the best-tasting early-season strawberries, producing medium-sized, glossy deep-red berries with a classic sweet flavor. The plants are vigorous and produce plenty of runners, and the variety carries good resistance to red stele and verticillium wilt. Its berries are firm enough to hold up well and are a popular choice for fresh eating and preserves.

Growing Earliglow Strawberry

Set plants about 12 to 18 inches apart in a matted-row system and pinch off the first year's blossoms to build strong crowns for a heavier future crop. As an early June-bearer it ripens ahead of most other varieties, so watch for late spring frosts and cover blossoms on cold nights. Harvest when berries are fully red, since the earliest fruits tend to be the largest of the season.
