Albion is a day-neutral variety from the University of California known for large, elongated conical berries that are firm, symmetrical, and deep red with a sweet, balanced flavor. Its firmness and shelf life make it a leading commercial and market variety, and it also offers good resistance to verticillium wilt and some crown and root rots. It produces fruit over an extended season rather than a single peak.

Growing Albion Strawberry

Space plants roughly 12 inches apart in raised beds and remove the first flush of blossoms after planting to build strong crowns before the long harvest begins. Being day-neutral, it fruits from summer into fall, so maintain steady moisture and light feeding to sustain production. Harvest when the whole berry is a rich red, since Albion fruit can look ripe at the shoulders before the tip fully colors.
