About Champion
Champion is a round, bright red radish similar to Cherry Belle but with larger roots, and it is an All-America Selections winner. It is valued for staying crisp and mild without quickly becoming pithy, holding its quality in the garden longer than many types. The interior is white and the flavor is mildly peppery.
Growing Champion Radish
Direct sow in cool spring or fall weather and thin to about 1 inch apart for well-formed globes. Keep soil consistently moist to encourage smooth, crack-free roots. It tolerates a slightly longer window in the ground than most, but harvest around 1 to 1.5 inches for the best texture.
