About Jalapeno M
Jalapeno M is a widely grown open-pollinated jalapeno strain that produces the familiar thick-walled, medium-hot green chiles about two to three inches long. The fruit matures from dark green to red and often shows fine corky lines, called netting, on the skin as it ages. The bushy, productive plants yield heavily over a long season.
Growing Jalapeno M Pepper
Space plants about 18 inches apart in full sun and warm soil, and stake branches that become heavily laden with fruit. Pick pods firm and dark green for classic jalapeno flavor, or let them turn red for a sweeter, slightly hotter chile. Keep moisture even to reduce blossom end rot, and watch for sunscald on exposed fruit.
