About Cayenne Long Slim

Cayenne Long Slim is an open-pollinated hot pepper that bears long, slender, often curved and wrinkled pods ripening from green to bright red. The thin-walled fruit is quite hot and is a traditional choice for drying and grinding into cayenne powder. Tall, productive plants can carry many pods at once.

Growing Cayenne Long Slim Pepper

Space plants about 18 inches apart in full sun and warm soil, and stake them since a full fruit load can make the plants top-heavy. The thin walls dry easily, so leave pods to turn fully red on the plant before picking for drying. Provide steady moisture and watch for sunscald on the slender, exposed fruit.
