How to Store Dill
Fresh dill is delicate and loses quality quickly unless kept cold and moist. Plan to use it soon or preserve it promptly.

Best storage conditions
Store fresh dill at 32 to 36 F with high humidity. Keep it out of direct light in the refrigerator.
How long it keeps
Fresh dill usually keeps about 5 to 10 days. Dried seed heads and dried leaf dill keep much longer.
Storage methods
Wrap loosely in a slightly damp paper towel and place in a loose bag, or stand stems in a little water in the refrigerator if space allows. Avoid crushing the fronds and do not seal wet dill tightly. Wash just before use if possible.
Freezing & preserving
Freeze sprigs or chopped dill, or dry the leafy parts and seed heads. Dill is also commonly used in pickling. Use tested USDA or NCHFP recipes for any canned pickles or relishes.
Tips
Use flattened or yellowing bunches first. Keep dill away from strong-smelling foods in the refrigerator.
