About Yellow Crimson
Yellow Crimson resembles its red-fleshed relative Crimson Sweet on the outside, with a round, light green rind striped in darker green, but the interior is a bright yellow. The flesh is exceptionally sweet with a mild, honeyed flavor that many find distinct from red watermelon. It is open-pollinated and produces medium to large fruit on vigorous vines.
Growing Yellow Crimson Watermelon
Grow it like other full-size watermelons, spacing plants about 4 to 6 feet apart in full sun and warm soil. It needs a warm season of roughly 80 to 85 days to develop its high sugar content. Since the flesh color does not show from outside, rely on the yellow ground spot, a dried stem tendril, and a dull thump to judge ripeness.
