About Jubilee
Jubilee is an open-pollinated variety developed at the University of Florida, producing large, elongated fruit with a light green rind striped in darker green. The flesh is bright red, crisp, and sweet, and individual melons often weigh 25 pounds or more. It was bred with resistance to fusarium wilt and anthracnose, making it a dependable field variety.
Growing Jubilee Watermelon
Plan for long, sprawling vines and heavy fruit by spacing plants 4 to 6 feet apart in full sun. It is a long-season melon needing around 90 to 95 days, so it fits warmer climates best. Keep moisture even to reduce blossom end rot and cracking, and harvest when the ground spot is creamy yellow and the stem tendril dries.
