About Silver Queen
Silver Queen is a classic late-season white hybrid of the normal sugary (su) type, prized for its refined, mild sweetness and tender white kernels on long, well-filled ears. Plants grow tall and vigorous, and the variety is noted for useful field resistance to Stewart's bacterial wilt and northern corn leaf blight.
Growing Silver Queen Sweet Corn
Because it matures late, at roughly 88 to 92 days, plant it into warm soil and give it a long, frost-free window. Set it in blocks of at least four short rows with plants about 8 to 12 inches apart to ensure good pollination and full ear fill, and harvest when the silks turn brown and a pressed kernel releases milky juice.
