About Caroline

Caroline is a productive everbearing (primocane-fruiting) red raspberry prized for flavor, often rated among the best-tasting fall red raspberries. It bears large, cone-shaped, deep red berries with a rich, full raspberry taste. Plants are vigorous and high-yielding, and the variety shows good tolerance to root rot and to warmer climates compared with many red raspberries.

Growing Caroline Raspberry

Grow in full sun with well-drained soil, and use raised rows if drainage is marginal, since good drainage supports its root rot tolerance. Like other primocane types, it can be cut to the ground in late winter for one strong fall crop on new canes. Space plants roughly 2 feet apart, keep the row narrow by removing wandering suckers, and harvest when the fruit slips off cleanly.
