About Fordhook Zucchini
Fordhook Zucchini is a bush-type variety long offered by Burpee and named for the company's Fordhook trial farms. It produces smooth, medium to dark green cylindrical fruit on a productive, space-saving plant well suited to typical backyard gardens.
Growing Fordhook Zucchini Zucchini
Its compact bush form fits smaller gardens and large containers; space plants about 2 to 3 feet apart in full sun. Harvest when fruit reach 6 to 8 inches for tender flesh, and pick frequently so the plant keeps setting new fruit. Watch for powdery mildew on the leaves late in a humid summer.
For planting dates, care, and harvest that apply to all zucchini, see the complete guide.
