About Tankuro

Tankuro is a Japanese black-seeded soybean usually harvested green as edamame, prized for its sweet, rich flavor. Vigorous plants are productive, and if allowed to mature fully the dry beans turn black and can also be used for soy foods.

Growing Tankuro Edamame

Grow it like other edamame in full sun and warm soil, with steady moisture during bloom and pod fill for the best shell size. Pick for edamame when pods are full and green with only slight dark blush, or leave pods to dry completely on the plant if you want the mature black beans.
