About Barcelona

Barcelona is the traditional Oregon in-shell hazelnut standard, producing large, attractive nuts with good shell-market appeal. It is susceptible to eastern filbert blight and is less resistant than newer Oregon cultivars.

Growing Barcelona Hazelnut

Barcelona needs compatible pollinizers and should not be planted as a single cultivar block. In regions with eastern filbert blight pressure, use resistant pollinizers and a disease-management program, then harvest promptly as nuts drop.
