Pears price chart, 1-year history

Pears prices and seasonality

Most US pears are grown in the Pacific Northwest, especially Washington and Oregon, and the domestic crop is marketed from harvest into later months through controlled storage. Imports from Southern Hemisphere suppliers, including Argentina and Chile, can supplement availability when the domestic storage season is less prominent. Terminal-market wholesale prices may vary with new-crop arrivals, storage inventories, weather effects on production, fruit quality and size, and imported supply. Reported prices describe wholesale terminal-market trading, rather than retail grocery-store prices.
